Mbemba Leaves PSG to Join Paris FC

It is a major shock for the Paris Saint-Germain academy. Young centre-back and left-back Emmanuel Mbemba (18), the iconic captain of the France U19 championship-winning side and the 2026 Coupe Gambardella winners, is set to make a controversial move across the city. A free agent since July 1, the Melun-born defender has decided to join Paris FC.

Strongly linked with several Bundesliga clubs in recent weeks, the France U18 international has instead opted to stay in the Paris region. The decisive factors were the sporting guarantees offered by Paris FC and the opportunity to continue his development close to home.

Paris FC Wins the Race for Emmanuel Mbemba

At Paris FC, Mbemba will complete his development within the first-team squad while gaining experience in Ligue 1. He is expected to sign a four-year contract, running until June 2030, immediately after completing his medical examination scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

For PSG, the departure represents a significant setback for the club’s academy. Although the French champions will receive training compensation estimated at just over €150,000, losing one of the standout leaders of their golden generation to their ambitious Parisian neighbours without securing his first professional contract is a bitter blow. For newly promoted Paris FC, however, the signing sends a strong message about the growing appeal of the club’s project to France’s brightest young talents.
