Could PSG once again face a brutal Champions League draw? According to a projection published by Football Meets Data, the Parisian club could come up against several European giants right from the opening phase.
Barcelona, Bayern and Manchester United among possible opponents
Potential opponents include FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, three major European clashes for PSG. The projection also features Napoli, Aston Villa, Villarreal, Como and Stuttgart, meaning Paris could face eight very different opponents with several particularly dangerous fixtures.

The full scenario projected by Football Meets Data is therefore: FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Napoli, Aston Villa, Villarreal, Como and Stuttgart. Such a draw would give PSG several prestigious encounters against clubs accustomed to major European nights, as well as some potentially very difficult away trips.
Under the new Champions League format, each team plays eight matches against eight different opponents during the league phase, with the overall standings determining direct qualification for the round of 16 and the teams required to go through the playoffs. This is, of course, only a projection and not the official draw, but it already illustrates just how demanding PSG’s European campaign could be, with very few straightforward games on paper.
