Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona are set to clash in the quarter-finals of the Champions League this Wednesday. However, the official dinner between the two clubs took place on Tuesday without PSG’s president.

PSG hosted FC Barcelona on Tuesday, and an official dinner involving the management of both clubs was held at the ONOR restaurant, located near the Arc de Triomphe.

However, in a rare occurrence, PSG’s president, Nasser al-Khelaïfi, was absent. This absence reportedly surprised the Barcelona delegation, as per Sport. On the other hand, RMC suggests that NAK’s absence is related to Eid al-Fitr, the celebration marking the end of Ramadan fasting for Muslims.

Relations between the two clubs have not been harmonious for months or even years. The Spanish daily Sport suggests that this absence could also be linked to the conflict over the Super League. Barcelona is one of the founding clubs, while PSG has vehemently opposed the project. Additionally, the Qatari leader of PSG is also the president of the European Club Association (ECA), which advocates against the Super League.
