Kang-In Lee Makes Special Trip to London to Apologize to Son Heung-Min
Kang-In Lee made the journey to London specifically to apologize to Son Heung-min.
Following the brawl scandal comes the apologies. Son Heung-min welcomed Kang-In Lee in London, a few days after the altercation that occurred within the Korean national team during the Asia Cup in Qatar. The Korean captain mentioned the apologies from the PSG player, who traveled to London specifically for the occasion.
“Kang-in sincerely regretted and apologized sincerely to all the players of the national team, including myself. When I was young, I made many mistakes and showed poor behavior, but every time I received exciting advice and teachings from good seniors, so I think I can be here now. So that Kang-in never commits this kind of bad behavior again, we will take special care of all our players as senior members of the national team and captains so that Kang-in can become a better person and a better player,” said Son.
Kang-In Lee Continues to Apologize
After the incident came to light, Kang-In Lee apologized on social media. “My thoughtless behavior caused great disappointment to my brother Heung-min Son, to the entire team, and to football fans. I didn’t listen to the advice that Heung-min gave me as captain, as an elder brother, and as a teammate for unity. I behaved in a way that I shouldn’t have at the dinner table that day. I am deeply sorry for these things. Respect and commitment to the team are the most important things, and I lacked them.”
“I apologize once again for the disappointment I have caused to Korean football fans by deviating from exemplary behavior and that expected of an athlete representing the country,” he added. “I know that the disappointment is as great as the love you have given me. I will continue to work hard and dedicate myself to improving as a footballer and as a person.”
