This salary is explained in part because he has moved up the ranks in recent years. He officiated the Champions League final in 2022 and the Europa League final in 2021.
According to L’Equipe, this salary includes preparation allowances, special bonuses due to his status as an elite UEFA referee. The referee can earn up to €3,214 for a Ligue 1 match and €1,000 as a video referee. European competitions have also allowed him to earn substantial sums, particularly from the quarter-finals onwards.
And Clément Turpin could hit the jackpot at the Euros. UEFA pays €10,000 per match to the main referees selected for this competition. Therefore, he could surpass this amount this season.
