Luis Enrique rotated his team against Reims (2-2) this Sunday in Ligue 1 with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, Ousmane Dembélé, and Kylian Mbappé on the bench at kickoff. Not necessarily a success.

PSG made a lot of changes this Sunday. And ended up with a draw. Mbappé, Dembélé on the bench: a strategy that PSG’s Spanish coach Luis Enrique takes responsibility for.

“My decisions have always been the same throughout the season. Yesterday, they told me that I was the coach who rotated his starting eleven the most in all of Ligue 1. As long as the players follow me, I will continue with this strategy. So far, it has worked,” judged the former FC Barcelona coach at a press conference.

“The team never let up today. We had the right mentality, we showed ambition. After that, I didn’t like certain things, we gave them a lot of gifts and the first goal was one of them. But apart from that, there were many positive things, we were aggressive. We want to fight in all competitions.”

And will Mbappé continue to be on the bench? The answer was… evasive: “If this is his new role in Ligue 1? I only wish the best for Kylian Mbappé for the future and the present. He’s an incredible player and an even more incredible person, I only wish him the best of the best. Is that clear? That wasn’t your question? Okay, but that’s my answer. That’s how it works,” said the Spanish coach with a big smile for Prime Video.
