Heavily linked with PSG in recent weeks, Aleksey Batrakov has finally decided to speak out. While his name had been circulating widely in the media and members of his entourage had even suggested there was a “95% chance” of a move to Paris, the Russian attacking midfielder wanted to clarify his situation.
Batrakov appears keen to keep PSG interested despite negotiations having stalled. The 20-year-old enjoyed an outstanding season with Lokomotiv Moscow, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists in 36 matches, performances that reportedly caught the attention of Luis Campos. However, recent reports suggest PSG have cooled their interest in order to prioritize other profiles. The player’s representatives are also said to have frustrated the Parisian club by negotiating with other teams before returning with higher demands.
Batrakov Responds to PSG Transfer Rumors
The young Russian international was also asked about a viral moment involving a photo of him wearing a PSG-themed T-shirt, an image that fueled speculation about his future. “It was a joke,” Batrakov explained to Sport24.ru. “Lately, there has been far too much talk about me and a possible transfer.” He added that he prefers to focus on football rather than transfer rumors.
Batrakov also revealed that he asked his representatives not to update him on any ongoing negotiations while he was away with the Russian national team. It was his way of staying fully focused on his sporting objectives despite the growing media attention surrounding his name.
The midfielder also sent a subtle nod to PSG by admitting he supported the French club during the Champions League final against Arsenal. “I was rooting for PSG, especially because of Safonov. PSG is more interesting,” he said. A statement that is sure to please Parisian supporters, even if the transfer story now appears to have lost much of its momentum.
