Paris Saint-Germain has made a difficult decision by announcing the cancellation of the 2026 edition of We Run Paris, the running event that was expected to bring together more than 12,000 participants in the streets of the French capital this weekend.
The club was forced to call off We Run Paris because of the ongoing heatwave. The event was scheduled over two days, with children’s races planned for Saturday, June 27, and the main 10-kilometer race for adults on Sunday, June 28. As in previous years, thousands of supporters and running enthusiasts were expected to take part.
Extreme Weather Forces PSG to Cancel We Run Paris
In an official statement, PSG explained that the decision was made due to exceptional weather conditions. The club said: “Because of the unprecedented climate event currently affecting Paris and much of mainland France, Paris Saint-Germain deeply regrets announcing the cancellation of all We Run Paris 2026 races scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.”
The announcement will undoubtedly disappoint the thousands of registered runners, but the club believes the decision is necessary given the severe heatwave that has affected France for several days. Although temperatures are expected to gradually fall, conditions remain too uncertain to guarantee the safety of all participants.
