Good news for Luis Enrique ahead of the first major fixture of the season. Paris Saint-Germain should be able to count on its entire squad when facing Lens in the Trophée des Champions, scheduled for August 16.
PSG return to training this Monday, July 27, with important fixtures already approaching. Paris will play Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup on August 12, when the squad is unlikely to be at full strength. Four days later, however, the situation should be very different.
PSG Players to Return Progressively in August
After a gradual return to training, the Parisian squad is expected to be fully operational for the final against Lens. According to Le Parisien, the staff hope to have every player available to begin the season with another trophy. The first sessions at the PSG Campus will feature a reduced group including Matvey Safonov, Lucas Chevalier, Renato Longoni, Illia Zabarnyi, Lucas Beraldo, Dro Fernández, Senny Mayulu and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The internationals and players granted a longer rest period will return progressively in early August. Willian Pacho, Ibrahim Mbaye, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, João Neves, Fabián Ruiz, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé are among those expected back, depending on their recovery and physical condition. Luis Enrique could therefore field a team close to his strongest eleven against Lens, potentially featuring Chevalier; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes; João Neves, Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz; Doué, Dembélé and Kvaratskhelia.
Before the Trophée des Champions, PSG will also play several warm-up matches to rebuild fitness and on-field chemistry after a particularly long season and a demanding international schedule. Barring any injuries during pre-season, Paris should face Lens with a complete squad and will aim to begin the new campaign by immediately adding another trophy to its collection.
