The Yan Diomandé saga is officially over for Paris Saint-Germain. In a move that has come as something of a surprise, the player is now set to join Real Madrid.
Yan Diomandé will not be signing for PSG and will instead head to Kylian Mbappé’s club. According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign the Ivory Coast international winger for a fee exceeding €100 million.
PSG Condemns Disproportionate Demands
The player is expected to travel to Madrid in the coming days to undergo his medical and sign a contract running until June 2031. Long considered the favourites in the race, PSG were ultimately overtaken by Real Madrid’s push and decided to withdraw from negotiations.

In a statement sent to Sky Germany, the Parisian club confirmed that it had withdrawn its interest and its offers for Diomandé. PSG explained that the transfer fee and salary demands were considered “totally disproportionate and unreasonable”, insisting that it would not abandon its principles of sound financial management and squad balance or become involved in an inflated bidding war.
The firm tone also reflects clear frustration within the club. PSG said they would not take part in “inflationary games” or the manoeuvres of certain agents, while highlighting their status as back-to-back Champions League winners. After previously reaching an agreement with the player, Paris have now abruptly closed the file and are expected to focus on other attacking targets, including Maghnes Akliouche.
