Just hours before the Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest, attention is turning to Paris Saint-Germain’s likely starting lineup. Barring any late surprises, Luis Enrique is expected to stick with his trusted formula.
The countdown is on for the Spanish coach and his squad. PSG’s staff are putting the finishing touches on preparations for a second consecutive European final, further highlighting the club’s consistency at the highest continental level. Unless something changes at the last minute, Luis Enrique already appears to have a clear idea of his starting eleven.
Hakimi Fit, Doué Favored in Attack
The latest updates regarding Achraf Hakimi are encouraging. The Moroccan full-back is expected to start despite concerns that emerged in recent days. As a result, Warren Zaïre-Emery could begin the match on the bench and provide a valuable option later in the game. In midfield, no major changes are anticipated, with Vitinha, João Neves, and Fabián Ruiz set to retain their places after an outstanding season together.
In attack, Désiré Doué appears to have the edge over Bradley Barcola to join Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the front three. The young Frenchman could be rewarded for his recent performances in high-profile matches. Apart from Quentin Ndjantou, PSG are expected to have an almost fully fit squad available for the final. Arsenal, meanwhile, face a more complicated situation. Already without Ben White, the Gunners may also have to cope without Jurrien Timber, whose participation remains highly doubtful. That could be a major concern against an in-form Kvaratskhelia, while Mikel Arteta is also monitoring the fitness of Noni Madueke, who picked up a muscular issue during Arsenal’s last Premier League match and remains a doubt for the final.
