Achraf Hakimi received support from several PSG players after Morocco were eliminated by France. Beaten 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, the Moroccan full-back was comforted by several of his Paris teammates in the French squad.
It was a cruel evening for Achraf Hakimi. Already a historic semi-finalist with Morocco in 2022, the PSG defender dreamed of taking the Atlas Lions back into the last four. But against a solid and efficient France team, Morocco were unable to turn things around.
PSG Teammates Rally Around Hakimi
After the final whistle, several French players with past or present ties to the Parisian environment came over to greet and console Hakimi. Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué and Lucas Hernandez notably took the time to speak with their PSG teammate.
It was a powerful scene, a reminder of the bonds created at club level despite the intensity of a World Cup quarter-final. On the pitch, there was no room for sentiment. But once the match was over, friendship and respect quickly took over.

For Les Bleus, the celebration can continue as they prepare for a semi-final against Spain or Belgium. For Hakimi, the journey ends here, but the image of his Paris teammates coming to comfort him will remain one of the human moments of the evening.
