The PSG won’t reach the Champions League semi-finals, according to RMC consultant Jérôme Rothen. Why? It all depends on the draw, but PSG simply faces stronger opponents, says the former player. “There are teams that are easier to draw than others. This PSG team doesn’t have the means to compete with the best European teams.”
He adds, “Out of the 8 teams, I don’t see PSG in the top 4 or 5. In league matches, there’s no problem, you can always find teams in difficulty, like Bayern Munich. But if you play against Bayern Munich, Manchester City, it’s complicated.”
“PSG has never given me as much satisfaction as Atlético Madrid did yesterday. It’s going to be very difficult. The only favorable draw you can get is Dortmund, whom you already faced in the group stage. PSG will have to raise its level. We saw it against Nice, when it’s time to raise the tempo, PSG struggles, I think.”
