Marquinhos was initially elected as captain, and following a second secret ballot vote on Tuesday, the players voted again.

The informal vote was invalidated. PSG players conducted a second vote to select their captain, according to RMC Sport. And the result remains the same.

Marquinhos, who was designated as captain before the match against Toulouse, retains his captaincy after a secret vote held on Tuesday at the PSG training center.

“Unlike the first informal vote, which wasn’t appreciated by everyone, including some leaders, this Tuesday’s vote at the Poissy training center was carried out formally and through a secret ballot. This was done to ensure each individual’s freedom to vote for their captain,” explains RMC Sport.

Marquinhos is thus reaffirmed in this role, according to L’Equipe. He reportedly also has the support of President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, though not necessarily from all executives.
