PSG was defeated 3-2 by FC Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Xavi and Pedri are not getting carried away.

Xavi remains calm. Despite the victory, the Barça coach believes that “PSG remains the favorite” for qualification. There is still a return leg to play.

“I am very proud because it is a beautiful victory against one of the best teams in the world. We are halfway there. Everything went very well. My players believe in it. We have a great opportunity and, by playing like this, we will have our chances to reach the semi-finals. However, we cannot let things slip like we did in the second half (PSG scored 2 quick goals after halftime, editor’s note), but we managed to recover and get back into the game. It’s a beautiful away win in Europe… but it’s not over, we have a very difficult match on Tuesday,” said the Barça coach in front of Movistar+.

Pedri, who had a good performance coming off the bench in the second half, is also not getting carried away. “The Champions League is complicated, it forces you to play like this. Teams make you retreat, you have to know how to suffer and score on your chances. It’s PSG and it’s the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They won’t give us anything. There are still 90 minutes left and we’ll have to play in the same way, or with even more intensity,” warned the Spanish midfielder.
