Idrissa Gueye is preparing to open a new chapter in his long career. Released by Everton after his contract expired on June 30, the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is set to move to Saudi Arabia.
According to Foot Mercato, the 36-year-old Senegal international has reached an agreement with Al-Diriyah. He is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for an additional season, with the move set to be officially announced soon.
A Final Challenge After Everton and PSG
Gueye is therefore leaving England once again after his second spell at Everton. The defensive midfielder returned to the Toffees in 2022 following three seasons at PSG and quickly regained an important role at the Liverpool-based club.

The Senegalese midfielder played for Paris between 2019 and 2022, helping the club reach the Champions League final in 2020 and winning several trophies, including two Ligue 1 titles. Known for his energy, physical presence and ball-winning ability, he will now bring his top-level experience to Al-Diriyah, who have been promoted to the Saudi top flight.
At 36, Gueye is not ready to hang up his boots just yet. The former PSG player is embarking on a new adventure and could bring his career to an end in Saudi Arabia.
