The extension of Kylian Mbappé’s contract is still uncertain: in early August, PSG had a meeting with the player, and it reportedly got heated, according to L’Equipe.

Things have improved between Mbappé and PSG since, but early August saw tensions. Precisely on August 8th, as reported by L’Equipe, a meeting took place between PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Kylian Mbappé.

According to sources from L’Equipe, PSG’s president allegedly stated to Mbappé: “You won’t play again, we won’t yield!” referencing his exclusion from the squad. In response, Mbappé reportedly retorted: “You’ll see? But what will I see? You’ll be the only president not letting me play,” the player supposedly asserted.

It was indeed a contentious meeting. However, three days later, Kylian Mbappé was reinstated into the PSG squad and will be playing this Saturday. Could this meeting have played a role in this turnaround?
