Hugo Ekitike is drawing interest from the Premier League, but also from Ligue 1, with Lyon reportedly in the mix.

Hugo Ekitike, a 21-year-old forward recruited by Paris Saint-Germain from Reims in 2022, has been sidelined by Luis Enrique since last summer. The player was reportedly invited to join Frankfurt but declined, leading to his disappearance from the radar.

However, according to Foot Mercato, a new opportunity has emerged: Olympique Lyonnais has expressed interest in securing his services to bolster their attacking lineup during the winter transfer window.

“To compete with Alexandre Lacazette, OL is considering Hugo Ekitike. Benched at PSG, the former Reims player has not played any matches this season except for 9 minutes against Lorient on August 12th. However, OL will have to contend with English competition (West Ham).”

According to Standard Sport, the player is also attracting interest from Premier League clubs such as West Ham and Crystal Palace for the winter transfer window, while Newcastle seems to have withdrawn from the race.

Ekitike’s future could thus become clearer with potential opportunities in England.
