Less than 24 hours after a nightmarish evening, Achraf Hakimi has broken his silence. He was injured in the ankle after the horrific tackle by Luis Diaz during PSG–Bayern (1-2) and left the field in tears.
Hakimi is already ready to come back stronger. The Moroccan full-back posted a first message on his social media this Wednesday.
“Returns are part of the journey, the comeback makes the difference,” he wrote, before adding in English: “Small setback, big comeback.” This statement was accompanied by a photo of a lion, symbolizing determination and strength.
A very tight deadline for the AFCON
Hakimi is suffering from a severe ankle sprain and will be absent for six to eight weeks. This is an extremely tight timeline for the AFCON 2025, which starts on December 21… in less than seven weeks.
In Morocco, the concern is immense. Local media remind that the PSG player is “indispensable” to Walid Regragui’s setup. The country is holding its breath: its national hero could miss the start of the competition held… at home.
