The Classique between PSG and OM, scheduled for this Sunday, February 8, as the closing match of Ligue 1’s 21st round (8:45 p.m.), will be played without Marseille supporters at the Parc des Princes. Despite an appeal from the Collectif Ultras Paris in favor of allowing them to attend, the request was unsuccessful.
PSG–OM: no Marseille supporters at the Parc des Princes. Authorities have classified the match as high risk and decided to ban away fans. According to several sources, reopening the away section for this major league clash remains highly unlikely at this stage.
Security concerns behind the away fan ban
A heavy police presence is already planned around the match, even without traveling away supporters. The Paris Police Prefecture confirmed that the scenario including OM fans was ruled out due to security constraints and limited resources.
“We are operating under a configuration without OM supporters. With Marseille fans present, the security operation would have been far more extensive, but it is no longer possible to deploy that many forces for Ligue 1 matches. Whenever the opportunity arises, public order disturbances are observed,” a police source said.
