PSG have no intention of parting ways with Lucas Chevalier. According to Le Parisien journalist Benjamin Quarez, the French goalkeeper has not expressed any desire to leave at this stage, and Paris do not plan to make a move on this matter.
Lucas Chevalier is set to stay and fight to reclaim the goalkeeping spot from Safonov. The battle between the goalkeepers will continue at PSG next season. According to Le Parisien, the club do not want to let go of the French shot-stopper, who was one of Luis Enrique’s choices last summer. It was also a surprise and controversial signing.
Chevalier remains part of PSG’s plans
Signed to be part of the Parisian project, Chevalier therefore remains firmly in the club’s plans. Despite the arrival of young Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni, PSG are not preparing the departure of their French keeper. Renato Marin is set to be loaned out, and Chevalier should begin the season as number two.
The situation could only be reassessed if the player himself were to change his stance. For now, that is not the case. Chevalier is not pushing to leave, and PSG are not looking to get rid of him.
The message is clear: Paris are planning for the future with Longoni, but they are not sacrificing Chevalier. Barring a turnaround, the French goalkeeper will therefore remain in the PSG squad.
