After PSG’s emphatic 5–0 win over Marseille, Luis Enrique praised Ousmane Dembélé’s performance, as he delivered two goals and an assist. While the Paris coach said it was not the team’s best match of the season, he highlighted the major impact of his forward in the derby clash.
Ousmane Dembélé left his mark on the Classique. With a brace in PSG’s 5–0 victory over Marseille, the Parisian number 10 stood above everyone else on Sunday night at the Parc des Princes. Luis Enrique took the opportunity to respond to several critics.
Luis Enrique Fires Back at Criticism
The Spanish coach answered remarks about the player’s supposed inconsistency with irony: “Yesterday you told me Ousmane was inconsistent. Incredible, just incredible! I like inconsistent players like Ousmane.” He emphasized his unique profile: “He is a different kind of player with the ball.”
Luis Enrique also praised his progress without the ball and what he sees as real consistency: “In the way he presses, the way he plays, the level he shows, he is always very consistent.” He concluded with strong praise: “Whenever he is fit, he is very special. That’s why he is the Ballon d’Or.”
