The story between Paris Saint-Germain and Ilyes Housni is coming to an end. Long regarded as one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the club’s academy, the 21-year-old striker is set to leave his boyhood club on a free transfer this summer.
Housni is leaving for good. After two largely unsuccessful loan spells with Al-Sadd in Qatar and then Le Havre, the young forward was searching for a project capable of reviving his career. According to Foot Mercato, he has found it in Ligue 2.
Nancy Bets on Housni’s Potential
An agreement has reportedly been reached with AS Nancy Lorraine. Having secured their place in the second division following their return to professional football, the Lorraine club is adding a promising attacking player who never truly received an opportunity with PSG’s first team.
Despite not making a single appearance under Luis Enrique, Housni continued to impress with PSG’s reserve side. He notably caught attention during the Premier League International Cup, where he showcased flashes of his talent.
His stunning dribble past Axel Disasi against Chelsea quickly went viral and reminded observers of his potential. Convinced by the player’s qualities, Nancy sporting director Michael Chrétien reportedly played a key role in completing the deal. The club now hopes to unlock the talent of a player eager to prove that PSG may have let a future star slip away.
