João Neves continues to turn heads across Europe. After Real Madrid, it is now FC Barcelona that has reportedly considered making a move to sign the Portuguese midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain. But on the Paris side, the response already seems very clear: the player is untouchable.
João Neves is admired by all the top clubs, especially in Spain. According to PSGINSIDE-ACTUS, Barcelona had considered a massive deal including Frenkie de Jong plus a significant sum of money to convince PSG. An ambitious idea, but one that has very little chance of succeeding, as the club from the capital sees João Neves as a central piece of its project.
PSG Determined to Keep João Neves at the Core of Their Project
For Paris, there is absolutely no intention of opening the door. João Neves is viewed as one of the pillars of the current and future PSG. His intensity, maturity, work rate, and tactical intelligence already make him an essential player in the balance desired by Luis Enrique.
The player himself is also said to be fully committed to the Parisian project. João Neves reportedly feels very comfortable at PSG, as does his partner, and a departure is currently considered completely impossible. The Portuguese midfielder is not thinking about leaving the capital.
The Frenkie de Jong scenario is also unlikely to change PSG’s position. The Dutch midfielder had been monitored by the club a few years ago, but that chapter is now closed. The player had turned down Paris at the time, and the Parisian staff has since moved on.
Barcelona may try to imagine an offensive move, but PSG has no intention of weakening its midfield. João Neves represents one of the symbols of the new Parisian project: young, talented, already performing, and fully integrated into the squad. Parisian fans can therefore breathe easy. Despite interest from Real Madrid and ideas from Barcelona, João Neves remains at the heart of PSG’s plans, and unless there is a massive twist, his future is still written in red and blue.
