Desire Doue has spoken publicly following France’s elimination in the World Cup semi-finals. The Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder shared a message on Instagram reflecting on the disappointment after Les Bleus fell short of reaching the final.
The 21-year-old admitted it took him a few days to process the result. France had hoped to go much further in the tournament, and Doue acknowledged that a semi-final finish was not the outcome the squad had been aiming for. “We were hoping for better than a semi-final,” he wrote after the competition ended.
Doue Remains Optimistic Despite World Cup Heartbreak
Despite the setback, Doue chose to focus on the positives from what he described as an exceptional season. The PSG star celebrated his second UEFA Champions League title and also experienced the first World Cup of his professional career. “I will remember the positive aspects of this exceptional season after winning my second Champions League and taking part in my first World Cup,” he said.

Doue also expressed his pride in representing France on the international stage. While disappointed by the outcome, he thanked supporters for their backing and vowed that the national team would come back stronger. “I am proud and grateful to have worn this shirt and to have had the opportunity to represent my country. I am certain we will come back stronger. Thank you all for your support. See you soon,” he concluded.
