Éli Junior Kroupi is not expected to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Despite the numerous rumours that have emerged in recent weeks, the Parisian club reportedly has no intention of signing the French Bournemouth striker.
Kroupi to PSG is a non-starter. The club did assess the player, but his profile is not believed to match the expectations of Luis Enrique and Luis Campos. Paris are looking for a striker capable of making an immediate impact at the highest level in Europe rather than a young player who is still developing.
PSG Focus on Ferran Torres Instead
According to Olivier Tallaron, PSG are not interested in Éli Junior Kroupi and do not intend to pursue the deal. La Source Parisienne has also confirmed this stance, describing reports of the former Lorient forward moving to the French capital as false. Paris’ real target is reportedly Ferran Torres.
Barcelona did make an attempt to sign Kroupi. According to L’Équipe, the Catalan club submitted two offers worth less than €100 million to Bournemouth, but both were rejected, even though the player would be highly enthusiastic about joining Barça. Fabrizio Romano reports that Barcelona have now ended talks, while Manchester City also made enquiries without changing Bournemouth’s position.
Bournemouth reportedly value Kroupi at around €100 million, or potentially more as part of an overall package, mainly to discourage interested clubs. Unless there is a dramatic change, the Frenchman is expected to remain at Bournemouth for another season. PSG have closed the file, while Barcelona and Manchester City have so far been met with a firm refusal from the English club.
