Bradley Barcola is moving closer to leaving Paris Saint-Germain. The French winger has reportedly given his initial approval to join Liverpool and experience the Premier League, although no final agreement has yet been reached over personal terms.
The Bradley Barcola saga has emerged as one of the biggest surprises of the summer. The 23-year-old has asked to leave PSG and appears to have agreed in principle to a move to Liverpool. He has recently held talks with several Reds executives, as well as the English club’s new manager, Andoni Iraola.
PSG and Liverpool Remain Far Apart
Liverpool have also opened discussions with PSG, who are now willing to consider a transfer. However, the two clubs remain a long way apart over the value of the deal. According to L’Équipe, Barcola hopes they can quickly find common ground, but Paris are standing firm and have no intention of selling cheaply a player under contract until June 2028.
The situation follows Barcola’s decision not to extend his PSG contract. The former Lyon winger was also reportedly frustrated by being left out of the starting line-up for the club’s last two Champions League finals and no longer wants to settle for a role as the team’s 12th man.
Liverpool have made him one of their main attacking priorities, while PSG are demanding a fee close to €170 million. Barcola’s agreement in principle could now accelerate negotiations, but a significant financial gap still needs to be bridged before the transfer can be completed.
