Paris Saint-Germain could completely reshuffle the hierarchy in goal once again. Already monitored by Juventus and several Premier League clubs, Zion Suzuki is now attracting concrete interest from the Parisian side, which has reportedly made contact in recent hours.
Could another goalkeeping merry-go-round be on the way? Last summer, Donnarumma left PSG and was replaced by Lucas Chevalier. This summer, Chevalier himself could pack his bags to make way for Zion Suzuki.
PSG Explore a Move for Zion Suzuki
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, PSG recently enquired about the situation of Parma’s Japanese goalkeeper. At 23, the Japan international has established himself as one of Serie A’s most promising shot-stoppers and could become one of the major stories of the closing stages of the transfer window. Valued at around €30 million, Suzuki is also a priority for Juventus, while several English clubs are reportedly still pushing to convince Parma to sell him.
PSG’s interest inevitably raises questions about Lucas Chevalier’s future. The former Lille goalkeeper wants to stay in Paris and fight to regain the starting role despite currently being behind Matvey Safonov. However, the club are reportedly keeping every option open, with talks surrounding Suzuki linked to possible departures, either on a permanent transfer or a loan. Juventus have also been linked with Chevalier, although Fabrizio Romano insists the Italian club are not pursuing him.
No official offer has yet been submitted to Parma. PSG have so far only gathered information and opened initial discussions to position themselves ahead of the Italian and English competition. With Suzuki on their radar, Chevalier determined to stay and Safonov still at the club, the goalkeeping situation in Paris could undergo further changes before the market closes.
