Ferran Torres’ future is expected to be decided at the beginning of August. Currently on holiday following the World Cup, the Spanish forward will have to confirm upon his return whether he wants to continue his career at FC Barcelona or join a new club.
Paris Saint-Germain have identified the 26-year-old as one of their main attacking targets. Following the failure of the Yan Diomandé deal, with the player set to join Real Madrid, Paris have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Torres, whose versatility and ability to play both out wide and through the middle are highly valued by Luis Enrique.
PSG Ready to Offer Ferran Torres a Four-Year Deal
According to Sport, Barcelona expect a clear answer from the forward when he returns from holiday in early August. The Catalan club intend to offer him a contract extension after the summer, but would reportedly demand around €50 million if he decides to leave.
PSG are believed to have already made progress in talks with the player’s representatives and could offer him a four-year contract with more attractive financial terms. However, no official agreement has yet been reached between Paris, Ferran Torres and FC Barcelona.
The French champions want to reshape their attack following Gonçalo Ramos’ departure, while Randal Kolo Muani and Bradley Barcola could also leave the club. Maghnes Akliouche remains another priority, but Torres would provide an immediately available option who already knows Luis Enrique’s methods perfectly. Barcelona want to keep the Spain international, but are unlikely to stand in his way if an offer close to their asking price arrives. The final decision now rests with Torres, whose return to Catalonia could trigger one of PSG’s biggest moves of the summer transfer window.
