Paris Saint-Germain could have several of their attacking stars back as early as Wednesday for the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa. Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué have decided to cut short their holidays in order to speed up their return to competitive action.
PSG’s French internationals are highly motivated. Dembélé, Barcola and Doué were back in training on Monday, earlier than expected. The coaching staff had initially not planned for them to take part in the UEFA Super Cup, but their desire to compete for another trophy has changed the situation.
Dembélé, Barcola and Doué Target Aston Villa Clash
According to L’Équipe, the three players returned ahead of schedule and resumed training individually. The decision highlights their determination to regain match fitness quickly after their period of rest, with Wednesday’s showdown against Aston Villa now firmly in their sights.
Dembélé, Barcola and Doué will use the next training sessions to build up their fitness and convince Luis Enrique that they are ready to be included in the squad. Their return would give the PSG coach additional attacking options for the club’s first major official fixture of the season.
The main question now concerns their physical condition and whether Luis Enrique believes they are ready to start or at least feature during the match against the English side. Their availability could provide PSG with a significant boost as they look to lift the UEFA Super Cup.
