McDonald’s will succeed Uber Eats as the naming sponsor of Ligue 1, and the contract amount has been unveiled.

Contrary to any notions of the Ligue 1’s lack of attractiveness, McDonald’s sees it differently. The burger chain will take over the naming rights after Uber Eats, with a staggering offer. McDonald’s is proposing a spectacular offer of €30 million per year for the naming rights of Ligue 1.

Uber Eats had offered €15 million per year over the last three seasons and was willing to increase this offer to €19 million per year. This represents an absolute record compared to the €20 million per year offer made by TIM for Serie A.

The Ligue de Football Professionnel is said to have reached an agreement with McDonald’s to make it their partner for the upcoming season. The contract signing between the two parties is scheduled for March 20th.
