Bad news for Marco Verratti. The former PSG midfielder has been sanctioned by the Italian National Federal Tribunal in a case linked to his investment in Pescara.
Marco Verratti has been punished by Italian sporting justice. Alongside club president Daniele Sebastiani, several shareholders and executives, Marco Verratti and his wife Jessica Aidi were initially facing a several-month ban from taking part in Italian federal activities.
Marco Verratti Hit With Administrative Fine
In the end, the sanctions were converted into fines ranging from €9,000 to €20,000. The issue concerns a failure to comply with transparency rules imposed by the Italian Football Federation when new investors join a club.
After Marco Verratti officially became a shareholder in Pescara in June 2025, several documents meant to prove the financial solidity and integrity of the new partners were reportedly not submitted within the required deadline to the competent authorities, despite a reminder from the federation. A purely administrative case that has now earned the former Paris star a sanction.
