PSG are back, but not at full strength. Fewer than a full team’s worth of players were present at the Poissy training centre on Monday. Nine players took part in the first day: Lucas Beraldo, Lucas Chevalier, Dro Fernández, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Alessandro Longoni, Senny Mayulu, Quentin Ndjantou, Matvey Safonov and Illia Zabarnyi.

PSG Players Set to Return in Several Waves

The squad will gradually grow over the coming days. Ibrahim Mbaye and Willian Pacho are expected back this week, before Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, João Neves and Vitinha return from Monday, August 3. Nuno Mendes could also undergo a medical assessment upon his arrival.

The final internationals will not resume training until between August 8 and 10. Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Lucas Hernandez, Fabian Ruiz and Warren Zaïre-Emery will receive a few extra days of rest. Lucas Digne, whose move has yet to be officially confirmed, is also expected to join the squad during this period.

Luis Enrique will therefore have to work with an incomplete group for much of the summer preparation. PSG’s coaching staff do not want to rush any returns and intend to tailor each player’s workload after a particularly long season.
