PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi relishes a “magnificent” night

The emotion was overwhelming for Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi after PSG secured qualification on Bayern Munich’s pitch (1-1) on Wednesday night in the Champions League semi-final.

Clearly emotional while speaking to Canal+, Al-Khelaïfi struggled to hide his pride after the Parisian club reached another European final. “It’s magnificent. Two finals in a row, it’s magnificent,” repeated the Qatari president, still affected by the intensity of the evening.

PSG dreaming of a second Champions League star

Already focused on the upcoming final in Hungary against Arsenal, Al-Khelaïfi openly expressed PSG’s ambitions: “Now we are going to Hungary to chase the second star.”

The PSG president especially praised the mentality shown by his players against Bayern Munich. “I told the players that we don’t just have players, we have warriors,” he said. Impressed by the unity of Luis Enrique’s squad, he highlighted the collective strength of the team: “Today, I saw a solid team that fought hard. We came here to win.” Al-Khelaïfi also paid tribute to Bayern Munich: “We respect Bayern. It was a magnificent match.”

He also underlined the symbolic importance of this qualification at the Allianz Arena: “We wrote PSG history in this stadium last season, and we did it again tonight.” Before concluding with a strong message about the club’s identity, he added: “We dream of the second star with this magnificent team. The star is the team.” In his excitement, the PSG president also praised everyone around the club: “We have the best coach in the world, the best sporting director, and the best supporters in the world.
