Barcola Refuses PSG Extension as Liverpool Prepare to Make Their Move

The Bradley Barcola saga has taken a major turn. The winger has reportedly refused to extend his contract, which expires in June 2028. This is the scenario PSG officials feared, and the French champions could now be forced to consider selling him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcola has decided not to sign a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain. The information has also been confirmed by several other sources, including Djamel and RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Liverpool Become Barcola’s Preferred Destination

PSG submitted a new contract proposal to the French international, but the offer was reportedly rejected around three months ago. Talks between the two parties have since stopped, and no further negotiations are currently planned. Barcola is not actively demanding a transfer, but he is now open to leaving Paris this summer. Chelsea have already made an approach, which the player turned down.

Should he leave PSG, Barcola’s priority would reportedly be Liverpool. The Premier League club have also placed him at the top of their attacking shortlist and could soon step up their efforts. PSG remain in a strong negotiating position because the player is under contract until 2028, but a fee of around €130 million has already been mentioned.

The saga is therefore only beginning. After long considering Barcola a central part of Luis Enrique’s project, PSG must now deal with Liverpool’s growing interest and the winger’s willingness to explore a new challenge. Without a contract extension, the Parisian club may decide to listen to major offers before his market value begins to fall.
