Real Madrid have now entered the race for Yan Diomandé. According to Fabrizio Romano and BILD, the Spanish giants want to quickly gain the upper hand in this highly competitive deal. By officially opening discussions with Leipzig, Madrid have sent a strong message to their rivals, including Paris Saint-Germain, who have been tracking the winger for several weeks. An offer worth around €100 million is reportedly being considered in Madrid.

PSG Have Been Working on the Deal for Weeks

However, the Parisian club did not wait for Real Madrid to make their move. Several sources recently reported that PSG had made Yan Diomandé one of their main attacking priorities. Talks had already taken place with the player’s representatives, particularly regarding image rights, an issue that was said to be almost resolved. Luis Enrique is a major admirer of the young forward’s profile and his ability to play in several attacking positions. Paris were even considering signing only one young attacking talent this summer, with a final choice between Diomandé and Eli Junior Kroupi.

Real Madrid are now the first club to turn their interest into a formal offer to Leipzig. Club-to-club negotiations are underway, while the player is also holding discussions with the Madrid hierarchy. PSG are not yet out of the race, but they will have to react quickly to prevent one of their main attacking targets from joining Los Blancos. The deal could accelerate in the coming days.
