The Ferran Torres saga could quickly become one of the most hotly contested deals of the summer transfer window. Frustrated with his situation at FC Barcelona, the Spanish forward is now reportedly seriously considering a departure. Paris Saint-Germain have already made enquiries, but a Premier League club has also entered the race.
According to Sport, PSG and an unnamed English club have contacted the player’s representatives. However, neither side intends to make a formal move before receiving Ferran Torres’ approval. The Spain international must therefore decide whether he is ready to leave Barcelona before negotiations can truly begin.
PSG Face Growing Competition for Ferran Torres
Paris’ interest is not new. Luis Enrique is a major admirer of the player, whom he previously coached with the Spanish national team, and has reportedly spoken directly with Torres to explain his project and the role he could be offered at PSG. The French champions are looking for a versatile attacker capable of playing centrally or on either wing.

PSG had recently chosen to remain patient, especially after Torres’ strong end to the season and his goal in the final strengthened Barcelona’s desire to keep him. The Catalan club now plans to open contract extension talks, although the two parties are believed to remain far apart over his sporting status and salary. Paris could offer him higher wages than Barcelona are prepared to match.
Premier League interest is now the biggest threat to PSG, with Arsenal and Tottenham previously linked with the forward. His experience at Manchester City could make a return to England attractive. A transfer fee of around €35 million has been mentioned, although Barcelona could raise their demands if several clubs submit offers. Atlético Madrid are also monitoring the situation, but Torres’ decision will ultimately determine whether PSG can move forward with the deal.
