Lee Kang-in’s time at Paris Saint-Germain is coming to an end. According to Marca, the 25-year-old South Korea international has signed a five-year contract with Atlético Madrid. With the final administrative details now settled, nothing stands in the way of the transfer being officially announced.
PSG are expected to receive up to €40 million, including bonuses, from the deal. It represents an excellent return on investment for the Parisian club, who signed Lee from Mallorca in the summer of 2023 for around €22 million.
Three Seasons and Major Honours in Paris
As the first South Korean player in PSG’s history, Lee Kang-in spent three seasons in the French capital. Technical, versatile and admired for his passing ability, he was regularly used by Luis Enrique as a winger, attacking midfielder or central midfielder.

During his time in Paris, he contributed to several successful campaigns and added Ligue 1 titles, French Cups, Trophées des Champions and the club’s historic Champions League triumph to his honours. He also made his mark on supporters with his first European goal against AC Milan and several decisive performances in major competitions.
After spells with Valencia, Mallorca and PSG, Lee Kang-in is now preparing to return to La Liga with Atlético Madrid. Diego Simeone is gaining a mature and versatile attacking player who had been monitored by the Colchoneros for several months. For PSG, the departure forms part of their ongoing summer squad clear-out while also allowing the club to make a significant profit before continuing their transfer business.
