FC Barcelona can almost forget about Eli Junior Kroupi. Looking for a new centre-forward to prepare for life after Robert Lewandowski, the Catalan club had identified the Frenchman as one of its alternatives to Julián Álvarez. However, Bournemouth’s asking price now appears completely beyond the Blaugrana’s reach.
When Barcelona and PSG are targeting the same player, it is usually a sign of real quality. After scoring 13 goals in 33 Premier League appearances during the 2025-2026 season, Eli Junior Kroupi has taken his game to another level in England. At just 20 years old, the former Lorient striker is now regarded as one of the most important players in Bournemouth’s project.
Bournemouth Refuse to Sell Kroupi
The Cherries have no intention of selling their striker this summer. Bournemouth have reportedly declared Kroupi untouchable, even though Tottenham are said to be willing to offer around £85 million, nearly €100 million. Even such a bid would not necessarily be enough to open negotiations. That firm stance has virtually ended Barcelona’s hopes, as the financially restricted Catalan club cannot enter a bidding war worth more than €100 million. Their priority remains Julián Álvarez, but Atlético Madrid are also refusing to sell the Argentina international.

PSG have far greater financial resources than Barcelona and therefore retain more room, at least in theory, to revive their interest in Kroupi. Paris have been monitoring the French forward for several weeks and identified him as an attacking option alongside Yan Diomandé. However, the French champions have no intention of overpaying. Faced with Bournemouth’s demands and competition from Tottenham, PSG had already begun to step back from the deal. They could return if the price drops, but a €100 million transfer currently appears highly unlikely.
PSG therefore hold a clear financial advantage over Barcelona in this race without being close to signing Kroupi. For now, the real winner is Bournemouth, whose financial strength allows them to reject major offers and keep their young goalscorer.
