Real Madrid Remain Rodri’s Preferred Destination

Paris are not alone in the race. Real Madrid reportedly already have an agreement with the player and remain well ahead in negotiations. Rodri is said to have made the Spanish giants his priority should he leave Manchester City, with the Madrid club now seriously considering a move after weeks of hesitation over the cost of the operation.

José Mourinho is also believed to be a major admirer of Rodri and is pushing for his arrival. The Portuguese coach sees the Spain international as the ideal player to bring balance, leadership and experience to his midfield. Barcelona are monitoring the situation as well, although their financial difficulties make such a deal particularly complicated.

For now, Real Madrid remain in pole position. PSG have made initial enquiries and possess the financial strength to compete, but they will need to act quickly and submit a highly convincing offer to change Rodri’s mind, with his current preference clearly leaning towards Madrid.
