Paris Saint-Germain have not given up on the idea of signing Julian Alvarez. The Argentine striker has once again been linked with the French champions, and reports in Spain continue to fuel speculation surrounding a potential move from Atlético Madrid.
However, Atlético’s stance remains crystal clear. Club president Enrique Cerezo has reminded interested parties that Alvarez’s contract includes a €500 million release clause, a figure designed to discourage any potential suitors and underline just how highly the Madrid side values its star forward.
Atlético Refuse to Discuss Alvarez Exit
Despite Atlético’s firm position, PSG are still said to be monitoring the situation closely. According to several Spanish outlets, Luis Enrique is a huge admirer of the former Manchester City striker and would like the club to explore the possibility of completing a blockbuster transfer.
Last week, AS reported that Alvarez’s representatives had held discussions with PSG regarding a potential move. The Spanish newspaper also claimed that the World Cup winner had been offered to several top European clubs, with a transfer fee between €140 million and €150 million being mentioned.
For now, Atlético Madrid remain completely unmoved. The club insists Alvarez is not for sale, no negotiations are taking place, and the Argentine international has never expressed a desire to leave. Enrique Cerezo has been categorical on the matter, stating that Alvarez will remain an Atlético player next season.
