According to RMC Sport, the Parisian board have contacted the Sky Blues to learn the conditions of a possible deal. Signing a midfielder was not initially among PSG’s priorities, but Rodri’s contract situation has convinced the club to seriously explore the opportunity.

Barcelona have also entered the race. Looking for a new midfield leader following Frenkie de Jong’s injury, the Catalan club are particularly interested in the Spain international’s profile. Their financial difficulties could nevertheless limit their chances against Real Madrid and PSG.
Manchester City therefore find themselves at the centre of a genuine three-way battle. Between the Citizens’ desire to extend the contract of one of their key players, the reported agreement with Real Madrid and the approaches from PSG and Barcelona, the Rodri saga remains far from reaching its conclusion.
