The Yan Diomandé saga has taken a very unfavourable turn for Paris Saint-Germain. Although the French champions had already reached an agreement with the young Ivorian forward, the player has now reportedly given the green light to join Real Madrid.
The situation is becoming increasingly complicated for PSG, who have decided to put the deal on hold because the required conditions have not been met. According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Real Madrid have entered into concrete negotiations with RB Leipzig over a package that could reach €120 million including bonuses. PSG have no intention of matching such a high fee.
Real Madrid Move Ahead as PSG Hold Their Ground
Paris had been working on the deal for several weeks and had made Diomandé one of their main attacking priorities. The club had reached an agreement with the player’s representatives over personal terms, while the issue of image rights was also said to be close to being resolved. Luis Enrique particularly appreciates the versatility of the Ivory Coast international, who can play in several attacking positions.

Real Madrid have now stepped up their efforts. After submitting an initial official bid to Leipzig, the Spanish giants are negotiating a deal worth around €120 million including bonuses, and Diomandé has reportedly accepted the idea of moving to Spain. Despite their agreement with the player, PSG refuse to enter a bidding war and believe Leipzig’s demands are excessive.
Unless there is a major change in the situation or the German club significantly lowers its asking price, Diomandé now appears much closer to Real Madrid than PSG. The Parisian club could quickly turn its attention to another attacking target, with Eli Junior Kroupi among the leading alternatives.
