World Cup: Hakimi Heavily Booed During Scotland vs Morocco

Achraf Hakimi endured a tense evening on Friday night. Just hours after a French appeals court confirmed that he would stand trial, the Morocco full-back was met with loud boos during the Atlas Lions’ 1-0 victory over Scotland at the 2026 World Cup.

It was a difficult atmosphere for Morocco’s captain. Every time Hakimi touched the ball, sections of the crowd in Foxborough expressed their hostility toward the Paris Saint-Germain defender. Despite the reaction from the stands, the Moroccan star appeared unfazed and remained fully focused throughout the match.
