Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer window is still far from over. After several major moves in both directions, the club’s management intends to make further adjustments to Luis Enrique’s squad before the market closes.
As of July 25, Paris have yet to make a first-team signing apart from a young Italian goalkeeper. However, PSG do not want to recruit at any cost. The club are now working on carefully selected targets, with a clear priority given to the attacking department. A right-back could also be signed, while the midfield is considered sufficiently well stocked.
Akliouche, Diomandé and Torres Lead PSG’s Shortlist
Maghnes Akliouche remains one of the most advanced targets. The French international is highly rated for his creativity, technical quality and ability to operate in several attacking roles. PSG see him as an ideal replacement for Kang-in Lee, although AS Monaco are still demanding a significant transfer fee. Yan Diomandé is another major target, but RB Leipzig are reportedly asking for close to €120 million. Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation and could take advantage of any hesitation from Paris.
Luis Enrique is still pushing for Ferran Torres, whom he knows well from his time in charge of Spain. The Barcelona forward would reportedly be open to joining PSG and taking on an important role in the attacking rotation, although the Catalan club still want to keep him and are considering contract renewal talks. Charles De Ketelaere remains a credible and less expensive alternative if PSG fail to complete their priority deals.
Paris could also recruit a right-back to provide genuine cover for Achraf Hakimi, while Lucas Digne is expected to arrive as Nuno Mendes’ understudy on the left. No midfield signing is currently planned, with Vitinha, João Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Senny Mayulu considered sufficient. Akliouche, Diomandé and Ferran Torres are therefore the three leading names, with De Ketelaere the main backup option as PSG decide which deal to accelerate.
