The goalkeeper situation continues to evolve at Paris Saint-Germain. While Zion Suzuki’s move to Juventus appeared to be almost finalized, the deal has reportedly run into complications in recent hours. At the same time, Lucas Chevalier is now facing two possible scenarios regarding his future in Paris.
PSG could still change their plans between the posts. According to Loïc Tanzi, the finalization of Zion Suzuki’s move to Juventus has encountered several issues recently. Although his departure seemed very advanced, the Japanese goalkeeper would no longer be against the idea of continuing at PSG, a twist that could directly affect the goalkeeping hierarchy and Lucas Chevalier’s future.
Suzuki could ultimately stay at PSG
Until now, the expected scenario was for Suzuki to join Juventus as part of a deal allowing PSG to prepare for the future. However, developments in recent hours have changed the situation. Complications have emerged in completing the operation, and Suzuki would now be open to staying in the French capital. According to Loïc Tanzi, that possibility can no longer be ruled out despite the deal previously appearing settled between all parties.
In this context, Lucas Chevalier’s position becomes even more difficult. According to L’Équipe, two options are now emerging for the French goalkeeper. The first would be for him to eventually request a departure himself in order to secure regular playing time elsewhere, something he is still reportedly refusing to consider. The second would be far more drastic, with PSG’s management potentially deciding to push him firmly toward the exit before the end of the transfer window.
The newspaper even raises the possibility of PSG using an approach similar to the one previously taken with Gianluigi Donnarumma. In other words, if Chevalier continues to refuse a move, Paris could harden its stance and make it clear that he is no longer part of the club’s main plans. With Suzuki potentially staying and Chevalier still unwilling to leave, PSG will need to clarify their goalkeeping hierarchy before the transfer window closes.
