Since Ansu Fati’s departure, the number 10 jersey at FC Barcelona has been left vacant.

Ansu Fati was seen as Lionel Messi’s successor, but it didn’t work out. After moving to Brighton to revive his career, the Spanish player left his number 10 jersey up for grabs.

According to the newspaper Sport, it was offered to Joao Félix, but the Portuguese player declined it, both to avoid the pressure associated with the iconic number and due to his contract terms. Joao Félix joined Barcelona on a one-year loan deal without an option to buy.
