PSG has widened the gap this weekend in Ligue 1. French champion already ?
It’s late February, and PSG is already the French champion, or almost. With a victory against FC Nantes on Saturday, Paris extended their lead, even with a rotation of players.
PSG now has a 13-point lead over Brest. The Breton club won against Marseille (1-0), but meanwhile, Nice lost in the opening match of the 22nd round, on Lyon’s turf (1-0). Monaco also lost against Toulouse (1-2).
It would take a catastrophe to see PSG caught up, with still 12 rounds to go. Will Mbappé’s situation disturb or demotivate? For now, it seems not, as some players will have a chance to step up.
Especially in the attacking department, Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani have the opportunity to show that the club should count on them next season. With a comfortable lead, the pressure has eased off. It’s up to them to prove themselves…
