An unusual detail could affect Warren Zaïre-Emery during the 2026 World Cup. At just 20 years old, the France midfielder may not be allowed access to certain areas of Les Bleus’ hotel in Boston.
Another setback for Warren Zaïre-Emery? After starting on the bench in the Champions League final, he could temporarily find himself excluded from part of the France squad’s social environment — this time for legal reasons. Here’s why.
Massachusetts Law Creates an Unusual Situation
The French national team will stay at the Four Seasons Boston, which includes the “Aujourd’hui Bar.” However, Massachusetts law is particularly strict regarding access to establishments that serve alcohol, especially for individuals under the age of 21.
As a result, Warren Zaïre-Emery could theoretically be denied entry to that area until he reaches the legal drinking age in the United States. By contrast, Désiré Doué will be able to enter, having celebrated his 21st birthday just a few days ago.
It remains to be seen whether the rule will be enforced strictly during the French team’s stay. One thing is certain: at 20 years old, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder does not yet enjoy all the privileges available to his international teammates on the other side of the Atlantic. Still, with Les Bleus having booked the entire hotel, some flexibility may be possible — or perhaps not.
