Luis Enrique has explained the reason why Gonçalo Ramos did not come on during the semi-final of the 2023/2024 Champions League.
The surprise of the Dortmund-PSG match was seeing Gonçalo Ramos on the bench. But more importantly, seeing the Portuguese player stay on the bench. The striker was not utilized by Luis Enrique, despite his good form, as he has been scoring goals consistently in Ligue 1.
“Coaches always have to make choices with the players they believe are best for their team. Before judging the substitutions, one must assess the match. Both teams played well, especially with the ball,” Luis Enrique initially stated.
“We had plenty of chances, and the difference was that they scored and we didn’t. But the result shows that it was balanced,” assessed the former FC Barcelona coach during the press conference.
